Esperanza Fund

The Esperanza Fund was created in late 2020 to bring hope to a community in desperate need. The Fund provided over $1 million in cash grants to undocumented members of Nevada’s community who did not have access to the federal direct relief funds. A joint initiative of the Nevada Governor’s Office for New Americans, the Open Society Foundations, NCF, and in partnership with multiple Community-Based Organizations, the fund proved to be a successful experiment in unrestricted cash assistance and public-private partnerships — and a lifeline of hope in a deeply challenging time.
